Construction of Housing

The first project is a new dormitory. This will sleep eighty students. The cost to build the two-story dormitory is $250,000.00. The architectural drawings have been approved. A Tanzanian contractor has been chosen. Construction will begin during the first quarter of 2011. Furnishing will be an additional cost to be determined.

At this time there are plans for two classrooms, a larger dormitory, two duplexes for teaching staff, completion of the Victoria Chapel and expansion of the cafeteria and Bruton Chapel. These construction projects will be addressed in the future.

Internet Tower

Internet communication and information has changed the world for most of us. But in Africa it is not available as easily as it is for us. In Arusha, Tanzania, the internet is available at major hotels and internet cafes. For some they can have access if they can afford to have a wireless modem through the local telephone companies.

For the Arusha Bible College there is no internet. The students and staff do not have internet access without leaving the campus and going to a local internet cafe. But at these local places the internet is not reliable and usually very slow.

The solution is to have an internet tower erected at the college and internet access distributed strategically.

Habari Node Limited is the company best qualified to do this work. Their quote is $3000.00 for the tower portion. This includes a Mikrotik Radio, Radio license for one year and three months of subscription fee.

Electronic Library

Once the internet is made available to the college, the next step is to create an electronic library. This library would contain such items as Biblical Commentaries, Study Bibles, Reference materials, Biographies, Autobiographies, Topical Studies, etc.

The cost would include the research and the recommendation of materials, the conversion of materials into an electronic format, the transferring of materials to the “server”, and the maintenance of the electronic library.
